liversedge is well and truly back on the map!

A new sign has been put up at the Liversedge Sparrow Park which has been created by Spen Valley Civic Society.

The park was officially opened last month, along with the unveiling of the impressive sculpture commemorating the Luddite uprising of 1812. However at the time, the lettering had still to be installed.

The project initially came about five years ago when hotelier Tom Harrington told the society many of his guests could not find directions to the Healds Hall Hotel because there were no signs to Liversedge

The sign is now up, leaving passers by and motorists no doubt that they are in the historic town.
