A group of three friends from Spen are all set to take on the ride of their lives – and take in Europe’s two most famous towers in the process!
Gary Scott, Stephen Garside and Ray Norris will ride a gruelling 450 miles from Paris to Blackpool to raise money for charity.
The lads will pedal for Prostate Cancer UK and Kirkwood Hospice, and hope to reach £10,000, which would be split between the two charities.
Stephen and Gary are no strangers to charity cycles, as they took on the Coast-to-Coast ride from Blackpool to Scarborough back in 2011.
Stephen, from Hightown, said: “The coast to coast was a blast.
“If the Tower to Tower is anything like the same then we are in for a fantastic ride!”
Gary added: “I gave up smoking about two years ago when I took up cycling again. Around the same time I was suddenly diagnosed with type two diabetes which, as you can imagine, turned my life upside down.
“Things are looking good thanks to my family and friends, and I would be thrilled if people came to see me reach the finish line!”
The ride will begin on Saturday September 14 from the Eiffel Tower, arriving at Blackpool Tower on September 19.
