Alternative way to stay on track with your resolutions

IT'S that time of year again - when new year resolutions to quit smoking, stress less and eat healthily are fast falling by the wayside.

It may only be three weeks into the new year, but old habits die hard and now is the most important time to stay on the right track, says Spen clinical hypnotherapist Cathryn Glover.

"The new year is an ideal time for us to start our new way of life because it sets us up for the rest of the year.

"But it is important that once we have made our minds up about something, we stick to it.

"If we let the time lapse, new year resolutions will have lost their appeal and we are less likely to keep them up."

Cathryn, who comes from a nursing background, says hypnotherapy can be used to tackle various everyday problems such as phobias, stress and anxiety.

"Stress and anxiety are the most common problems that people come to me with.

"They can cause physical problems and they can take over your life - they can stop you from doing things and living your life.

"I give people the tools so they can help themselves whenever they become stressed or worried.

"Whether it's stress at work, or anxiety about exams or driving tests, I can help.

"Hypnosis is a safe and natural way to help people make positive changes to their life.

"It's about changing thought patterns so people become more relaxed and are able to cope with things."

Cathryn said her clients are often surprised at the results.

"I've helped people with medical complaints, such as tinnitus and we've had some fantastic results," she said.

"Problems like this bring misery upon people's lives and it's wonderful that through hypnotherapy we can make such a difference.

"It is never too late to change your life for the better."
