BBC weather presenter to switch on Heckmondwike lights

BBC weather presenter Keeley Donovan will illuminate Heckmondwike's town centre when she turns on the town's Christmas lights.

Keeley, who began presenting for a cable television station in Grimbsy when she was 14, has had a long interest in the weather and started at the BBC in 2005.

She has since spent time studying with the Met Office, at the BBC Weather Centre and has also completed further studies in Meteorology with the Open University.

Keeley will push the plunger in Green Park on Wednesday December 2 at 6.45pm, but there will be entertainment from 5.30pm, courtesy of Mr Topper.

Santa will also make an appearance on the night and will be available for photographs with children in his grotto on the band stand.
