A Mirfield schoolgirl has raised more than £400 during a charity skydive.
Ella Vickers, 16, who goes to Castle Hall School in Mirfield, lept thousands of feet to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.
Ella said: “I wasn’t really nervous when I was in the plane and about to jump out – just really excited!
“I really wanted to do a skydive, and I am, so glad I did it – the feeling is amazing.
Ella took part ion the skydive in Brigg, Lincolnshire, and raised the money for Children’s Cancer and Leukemia Group charity. She said: “There are a lot of charities that get publicity, but some of them aren’t as recognised and need or help just as much – that is why I chose CCLG.
“I feel like I can go back and do it again and again, but for now I will concetnrate on my GCSEs!”
Her mother Chrissi said: “Ella woke up one day and said ‘mum, I want to do a sky dive’.
“I was very much against it at first, but no sooner had she said this, she had ordered the pack and decided her charity!”
“She is a very selfless person and really puts her heart into things she is involved in.”
