Boy, 12, charged after Tesco fire

A boy has been charged with arson following a fire at a supermarket.

The 12-year-old is to appear at Kirklees Magistrates Court accused of arson on March 11, following the fire at Tesco in Cleckheaton on Saturday February 16 at 8.30pm.

Shoppers were still in the store when 25 roll cages were set alight nearby, causing damage estimated at £3,700.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested and is on bail.
