Camp eases school transition for Dewsbury pupils
Tents lined the playing fields at Overthorpe Primary Academy as children pitched up for the annual summer play camp.
Pupils at Thornhill Community Academy’s feeder primary schools Headfield, Overthorpe and Thornhill junior and infant schools I had the chance to meet year seven form tutors ahead of their move to secondary school, and took part in games and sports organised by Thornhill’s student sports leaders.
Camp co-ordinator Jane Smith said:
“A huge thank you to Thornhill Community Academy students, they were the best group we have had and they were a credit to the school.”
