Cleckheaton assault leaves man with 'potentially life-changing' injuries

A man was left with 'potentially life-changing' injuries after being assaulted outside a Cleckheaton takeaway.

The assault happened outside Spicy Delight in Bradford Road between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, April 16.

The victim, 48, required hospital treatment for injuries to his face and potentially life-changing injuries to one of his hands, police said.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, around 6ft tall, of stocky build with brown ‘short back and sides’ style hair.

He was wearing a white shirt and was in the company of a similar aged white woman, who was roughly 5ft tall with shoulder length brown hair.

PC Kirsten Ford, of Kirklees District CID, said: “The victim has suffered serious injuries, particularly to his hand which he may have permanent limited movement of. We are keen to speak to anyone who has seen this assault or the circumstances leading up to it.

“Anyone with information is asked to make contact with myself in Kirklees CID via 101, quoting crime reference 13160163377.”
