A community library has been officially opened by Spen MP Mike Wood.

The library, in Grove United Reformed Church, Oxford Road, Gomersal, which has 3,000 books, was officially opened on Friday.

The Rev Alison Termie said: “We have a large selection of books for adults, children and toddlers. We’ve been given 500 classical CDs and a collection of ballet DVDs so there is lots to borrow for anybody who is musically minded.

“It is ticking over nicely; we have a steady stream of mums and toddlers and adults passing by too.”

The library is open to anybody and books are 20p to borrow with no late fees. Other charges apply for CDs and DVDs.

Ms Termie added: “There is also a space to sit and have a coffee and a chat. Coffee is only 30p – it’s very good value!”
