Firefighters from Cleckheaton were called out this morning (Saturday) by police who arrested a suspected drink driver.
They found a Volkswagen Polo on fire in Kenmore Road just after 2.30am.
Watch commander Darren Haley said: “It’s not clear how the fire started, but it was confined to the engine.
“We managed to contain it to that.”
One crew using breathing apparatus put the fire out within 30 minutes.
A man, who was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, is in custody.
The Southern Area Roads Policing Unit is continuing its enquiries.
