Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a former Cleckheaton man.
Jonathan Charles Binns, 41, was found dead in a flat in his home town of Scarborough on August 8.
Kevin Pickering, 29, and David White, 34, of Scarborough, have been charged with his murder. Their trial is scheduled to start on February 3.
The pair are also accused of conspiracy to rob along with two other defendants, Nicholas Polihronos, 30, of Scarborough, and 30-year-old Manchester man Jim Cousins.
Polihronos also faces a further charge of assisting an offender.
Meanwhile, Mr Binns’ family paid tribute to him in a statement. They said his untimely death had left a “huge hole” in their lives.
They said: “We loved him so very much and we cannot imagine our lives without him.
“Jonathan’s untimely and tragic death has left a huge hole in our lives and we are devastated at the way he has been taken from us.
“This is the most difficult thing we have ever had to deal with and we hope that whoever did this to Jonathan is brought to justice. We would be grateful for privacy to allow us to grieve for Jonathan.”
The funeral service will take place at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Monday September 9 at 11.15am.
