CLECKHEATON folk donned their chaps and spurs at the weekend, as businesses took part in a special wild west theme-day.
Shopkeepers in the town centre dressed for the occasion as cowboys and cowgirls and the town had its very own buckin’ bronco.
Lisa Haigh, owner of Heaven@Seven, was among those taking part in the event and said: “Lots of people came into town and everyone seemed to have lots of fun.
“Loads of them wanted to have a go on the buckin’ bronco, and all-in-all, it was a really good day for the town centre.”
The event was organised by traders’ group Totally Locally, Cleckheaton.
She said: “We want to get the message out that this is a great place for people to come, and events like this can only help!”
The group plans to have a special Valentine event throughout February, with a raffle for shoppers. Keep reading the Spenborough Guardian for more information on events in Cleckheaton.
