Football 'oiks' banned from Town matches

A FOOTBAll fan from Liversedge is among six men banned from Huddersfield Town following violent clashes with police after a game last season.

Jonathon Hellings, 20, of Halifax Road, was given a four-year football banning order as well as a weekend curfew by Bradford Crown Court after he admitted affray.

Appearing alongside him on the same charge were Carl Walker, 27, of New Hey Road, Marsh, Huddersfield, Edward Hunt, 20, of Brighouse Wood Lane, Brighouse, and Jonathon Patterson, 20, of Grange Court, Halifax.

Two others, Kierran Kavanagh, 20, of Stockwell Vale, Huddersfield, and Thomas Wilson, 30, of Leeds Road, Bradley, admitted threatening behaviour.

All six were given banning orders meaning they cannot go within a mile of Town's ground on match days and they must also stay away from Huddersfield railway station when Town play at home.

They were also given three month curfews with electronic tagging, restricting their movements at weekends, and were ordered to do 100 hours' unpaid work and pay 900 in costs and a fine.
