Four people injured in Oakenshaw crash

Four people were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Oakenshaw last night (Sunday).

Emergency services were called out to Bradford Road at around 9.30pm after there was a collision involving a car and a minibus taxi.

Fire crews from Odsal and Cleckheaton helped free both drivers from their vehicles.

The man who had been driving the taxi suffered a serious neck injury, a spokesman from West Yorkshire Police said.

The woman who had been driving the car suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were taken to hospital.

Two women who had been passengers in the taxi were also taken to hospital.

Police said the road was closed for around an hour while they investigated the scene.
