Xavia Timothy, 16, from Hightown, is through to the northeast final of iss Teen Great Britain, and is hoping to go through to the national final to have a chance of becoming Britain’s top teen.

Xavia, who was also named prom-queen at Whitcliffe Mount School, said: “Of course, I am very excited – it’s my first one, so I am a little bit nervous!

“I don’t know if I will come in the top places, but I am just hoping to get a good spot – although I would love to go through to the final.”

As well as being an aspiring beauty queen, Xavia is also planning for her future career.

“I’m currently studying at college,” she said, “I’m doing health and social care – I’m wanting to work with children.”
