Birkenshaw Kindergarten pupils were spotted walking through the village in their pyjamas – but it was all in a good cause. The Birkenshaw Big Toddle raised money for the Barnardo’s charity, and children from nine months to five years took part, walking around the village in their pyjamas and were sponsored by friends and family.
Nursery manager Catherine Flynn said: “Throughout the year we do a variety of different events in aid of several charities. We encourage the children to have an understanding of children and families less fortunate than us. We raised just under £1,000, a tremendous amount for such a small nursery.
