Breaking news...

Pop-punk legends Green Day, global rap star Eminem and Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro will headline this year’s Leeds Festival, it has been announced.

Green Day was the final headliner to be announced for this year’s event, giving the US punk rockers a chance to follow-up on their surprise appearance at last year’s Reading Festival.

All three headliners are UK festival exclusives, with the acts not booked for any other festivals this year.

This year’s festival, which takes place over the August bank holiday weekend at Bramham Park, Leeds, will also welcome metal heavyweights System of a Down and Deftones to its main stage.

Nine Inch Nails will also return for the first time since 2007 to perform an exclusive show on the Saturday, as well as punk rockers Fall Out Boy.

The NME/Radio 1 stage has bagged Mercury Music Prize winners Alt-J for the weekend, with French outfit Phoenix also joining A$AP Rocky and Bastille in the line-up.

And on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage, now expanded to entertain revellers for all three days of the festival, electro producer Sub Focus Live, Magnetic Man and Knife Party will headline.

Grime pioneer Wiley and UK rapper Devlin have been confirmed to headline the BBC Radio 1Xtra Stage.

More big names are set to be announced across the festival stages, with the line-up of the Festival Republic Stage, Lock Up Stage, BBC Introducing Stage and the Alternative Stage yet to be revealed.
