LETTER: Nothing being done to calm traffic in Thornhill

I have spoken to Kirklees Council and the police regarding vehicles driving dangerously down Church Lane, Thornhill towards the common over the past few years.
Will anything be done to calm traffic on Church Lane? Will anything be done to calm traffic on Church Lane?
Will anything be done to calm traffic on Church Lane?

There was a speed measurement device in situ that recorded over 80mph in a 30mph zone yet nothing has ever been done.

No road calming measures whatsoever.

There is a church, an old people’s home, private residences and a park all on Church Lane and we were even turned down for a crossing.

I was told that someone would have to be killed to instigate any road calming measures to be made - disgusting!

If two lorries or buses are passing, one has to mount the pavement as the road is too narrow.

The pavement on one side is only one foot across.

I just hope it’s nobody from my family that has to die to make anything be done.
