An engineer has retired after working for the same company for more than 40 years.

Rod Cook has racked up 43 years’ continuous service with 600 UK after joining the company, then Colchester Lathes, as a lathe manufacturer in January 1970.

He transferred to the role of service engineer in 1985 and when the company became part of the 600 Group in 1993 he moved to Heckmondwike.

He has retired from his role as service engineer for the south east of England after celebrating his 65th birthday last Wednesday.

“During his retirement he is planning to spend more time with his family in Halstead, Essex,” said Phil Cullen from the 600 Group.

“He is a highly experienced and integral part of the team and we wish him all the best for the future.”
