Man dies down grate in Heckmondwike
A MAN has died after falling down a grate near the centre of Heckmondwike in the early hours of this morning.
Police received a call at 12.15am to King Street after hearing that a man, who will not be named until his family are informed, was in some difficulties.
Emergency services, including a technical support unit from Cleckheaton fire station, attended the scene, but the man was found dead when they arrived.
The incident was described as a non-suspicious sudden death and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
