Memorial rugby match for David

A TRIBUTE rugby match and fun day takes place in Dewsbury Moor this weekend.

The third annual David Beaumont memorial game is set for Sunday and organisers are hoping for a good turnout to boost fundraising for a the British Heart Foundation.

Mr Beaumont, pictured, died suddenly in 2008, aged 49, as he was training with friends.

Pitted against each other on Sunday will be the Heavy Woollen Donkeys ARLFC and a team of players chosen by Mr Beaumont's son, Oliver.

Kick-off is at 1pm at the Dewsbury Moor ARLFC ground and afterwards there will be a family fun day at the Royal pub in Heckmondwike with bouncy castle, disco, raffles and a charity auction.

Organiser Chris Firth said: "David was a much respected and loved member of the community and an avid rugby league fan. His family and friends look forward to seeing as many people as possible on Sunday to make it a day to remember."

Mr Beaumont lived at Byron Grove, Heckmondwike with his family.
