Three men accused of murdering Mirfield man Joshua Hirst have been given a date for their trial.

Jo Church, Arron Smith and Nadeem Rashid will stand trial for murder on January 14 next year.

Church, 21, of Redlands Close, Mirfield, and Smith, 18, of Saville Street, Emley, are also accused of possessing a knife.

They appeared this morning at Leeds Crown Court with Rashid, 21, of Lapwing View, Horbury.

Kirstie Rainford, 22, formerly of Springbank Drive, Liversedge, stood alongside them in the dock.

She is accused of assisting an offender and will be a defendant in the trial, which is expected to last four to five weeks.

Mr Hirst was found stabbed in Hepworth Lane, Mirfield, on Friday August 3.

None of the defendants have entered pleas and all four will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on Friday November 16.
