Kids have been getting wheelie fit thanks to a health initiative run by Legacy Sport.

The organisation, based at Spen Valley Sports College has been giving Bikeability cycle training sessions to several Spen schools, such as this one pictured at High Bank School in Hightown – and there is bags more fun on offer during the half term.

As part of the Great Spen Valley Health Challenge to get young people more healthy and active, Legacy Sport, Kirklees and Sustrans are hosting a Cycle in the Park family fun day at the sports college on Tuesday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Shaun Fox from Legacy said: “Activities will include a cycle obstacle course, bike safety checks, Smoothie on a bike, Bling your Bike and much more. The highlight will be a bike stunt demonstration between noon-1pm performed by Danny Butler, the British Trials Bike Champion.”

The event is suitable for all ages – helmets and bikes will be available.
