Robber stole phone from victim

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was robbed of his phone in Birkenshaw.

CID officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery which happened just before 8pm on St John’s Road, Birkenshaw, on March 14.

The 19-year-old victim was approached by a man while walking along an unlit ginnel and as he walked past, the suspect assaulted him and demanded his Sony Xperia S mobile phone, which had fallen to the ground.

The attacker then picked up the phone and ran off, leaving the victim with superficial facial injuries.

The suspect was white, in his early 20s and wearing a dark coloured top possibly with the hood up.

Anyone with information can contact DC Divek Singh Ubhi at Huddersfield CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
