A school cook is celebrating 25 years of creating tasty meals for pupils.

Mary Stevens has been the cook at Cawley Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School
in Heckmondwike for the past 25 years.

Headteacher Stuart Harris said: “School dinners are hugely popular at Cawley Lane and from her small kitchen Mary produces almost 300 hot meals every day.

“On special occasions such as Christmas, Eid and during other events such as the
Olympics and the Jubilee, she works tirelessly to provide
the children in our school
with memorable themed
dinners.”
