‘Something special’ in baby Amber
Kyle Stock
SLEEPING in her grieving mother’s arms, baby Amber Mae Stock will never know her father, who touched so many people’s hearts.
But Kyle Stock, who died tragically in a road accident in May, will not be a stranger to his gorgeous two-week-old daughter as her mum, Emma Bloice, is already talking to her about him.
“I talk about him all the time,” she said.
“She’s not aware of it yet, but as soon as she’s old enough to understand, she will be told everything about Kyle.”
Emma, who lives in Howden Clough, said she hadn’t let herself grieve properly during her pregnancy so she could remain strong for her baby.

“I’m still staying strong but I am starting to grieve now that she’s here,” she said.
“She is my main focus, and I think having something to do all the time is keeping me going.”
Kyle was 25 when he died in a motorbike crash in Grassington, North Yorkshire, earlier this year.
Having spent nine years serving in the army, Kyle left the forces last year to face a brighter future with Emma and his family.
He was to start a new job as an engineer just days after his tragic death.
Kyle’s dad Bryan, who lives in Hunsworth, Cleckheaton, said Amber’s birth was helping the family through its difficult time.
“It’s one of those things where you find yourself smiling when you look at her, then you realise you haven’t smiled for a while,” he said.
“We have something special in Amber, and we will be there as much as we can for her and Emma.”
Emma, 30, said she was relieved to have had a girl, as she and Kyle had only agreed on a girl’s name.
“It would have been difficult to think of a boy’s name on my own,” she said.
Emma said the last two weeks had been a whirlwind, but she was grateful for all the support she had received from Kyle’s friends and family, as well as her own.
