A spa has bagged a national award for the second year in a row.

The Potting Shed Spa, based at Redbrick Mill in Bradford Road, Batley, was awarded Beauty Salon of the Year – Three Rooms or Fewer at the 2013 Professional Beauty Awards.

The spa came top in the same category at the 2012 awards.

Owner Sam Pearce said she was delighted to win for a second year.

She said: “To win after 9 months of opening and then again a year later, is an astonishing feat, it is down to the incredible team and a formula that has been welcomed not only by our clients but by the industry as a whole.

“We were so delighted to win this award and look forward to continuing to set the standards for impeccable customer care and service.”

The spa was visited by a member of judging team, assessed by mystery shoppers and had its staff assessed, fighting off competition from across the beauty industry.

The Potting Shed Spa was one of five finalists in its category, beating beauty salons in Somerset, Malmesbury, Cockermouth and Liverpool.

The glitzy ceremony, held at Hilton’s Park Lane hotel in Mayfair, was hosted by TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, with more than 750 beauty and spa professionals in attendance.
