Stars are out for BBG walk

FANCY DRESS: Edward Scissorhands, Elvis, and even God made an appearence!

SUPERHEROES and fairytale characters arrived in their hundreds at a Birkenshaw School for a special sponsored walk.

Pupils and teachers at BBG academy took part in a fancy-dress foot-slog to raise money for school trips and facilities, with characters such as Darth Vader, Elvis Presley and Princess Fiona from Shrek making guest appearences!

More than 300 pupils and teachers from the school took part, as the walk involved laps of the school grounds, which has already raised more that £700.

Jamie Hardaker, head of pastoral care and one of the organisers of the event, hoped that the fundraising from the event will continue.

He said: “This was a great event, and we hope to eventually raise about £1,000 for the school.”

Children received prizes for the best costumes during assembley.
