Stole from pensioner

property stolen from an elderly woman while she was in her own home has been found dumped in Hightown.

The pensioner was at home in Purlwell Lane, Batley, at 9.15pm last Friday when four or five men broke in and stole jewellery and cash.

Some of the items were found half an hour later near the Shears Inn in Halifax Road.

A police spokesman said: “Any crime against an elderly person is appalling, no matter what time of the year.”
