Tenants meet dignitaries

A MEET and greet afternoon was held by residents of the Spring Valley housing complex in Littletown.

The estate's tenants committee, formed about 12 months ago, invited local dignitaries to the social afternoon last Thursday.

Scheme co-ordinator Pat Brown said: "It was so the residents could meet face to face the people they deal with on a day-to-day basis but normally by telephone.

"Ward councillor Margaret Bates came along, and though MP Mike Wood was unable to attend, he sent along his representative Terry Tordoff. The local police also came as well as various representatives from Yorkshire Housing.

"It was a lovely afternoon and we provided a lovely buffet lunch for them all."
