two Spen slimming consultants were given the Essex treatment when they met a reality TV celebrity.

Mark Wright, from the hit reality TV show The Only Way is Essex, presented awards at the Slimming World annual awards ceremony, and met Kathryn Cooke and Sue Culshaw, who, between them, run slimming groups in Heckmondwike, Roberttown and Liversedge.

Mark said: “I was absolutely blown away by the people who joined us on stage. I couldn’t believe how much weight they’d lost and what a difference it had made to their lives. In fact, throughout the day I met so many fantastic people like Sue and Kathryn who run the Slimming World groups and help them achieve so much.”

Kathryn said: “Mark was very charming, and it was great to get support from big names like him.

“For anyone who is thinking of setting themselves a new year resolution to lose weight, my advice is not to put it off any longer and just to get on with it!

“It is just as important to stay active as it is to eat healthily, and the new year is a perfect opportunity to make a positive and sensible change in your life.”
