A cannabis farm has been discovered at a Birstall sports bar.
Police raided Jardy’s in Low Lane on Sunday afternoon and discovered a number of plants being grown in the cellar. The discovery comes just weeks after bar owner Jason Hardy was handed a suspended prison sentence and community service for allowing the premises to be used for the production of cannabis in 2011.
ALSO: The fight to protect Batley Library’s iconic home in the market place has seen more than 7,000 signatures collected across both paper and electronic petitions. History group campaigner Malcolm Haigh plans to present the petitions to councillor’s next week.
AND FINALLY: The Batley and Birstall branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) is throwing open its doors next month to celebrate 70 years of the association. The branch is also hoping new members may come forward to keep the cameraderie of the branch alive and raise awareness of its important work.
