DANCERS from a Spen Valley studio swept competitors aside scooping a string of medals and trophies at a recent tournament.

Girls from the Victoria Lister Dance Studios scored a series of wins against other schools from Wakefield, Leeds and Castleford in the competition.

Hollie Haughlin, 10, won five trophies including classical, disco and modern impromptu dances. Amber Armitstead-Binns won the highest modern mark trophy, Lucy-Jade Townsend won the Acro trophy, while Maisie Caton-Johnson won a comedy trophy.

Principal Victoria Lister, who runs classes in Birkenshaw, East Bierley, Tong and Gomersal, said: “I’m very proud of all of the girls, they have worked really hard for this.”
