STAR: Cian Mathers has landed a role in a top stage adaptation.

A YOUNG actor has landed a plum role in a stage adaptation of a children’s classic story.

Cian Mathers, nine, a pupil at the new West Yorkshire Drama Academy in Heckmondwike, took part in an audition for the Alan Bennett adaptation of Wind In The Willows, staged at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds.

Teacher Rebecca Foster said: “A few students from my academy went along to gain experience in audition technique and Cian landed a part.

“Cian has been working closely with professionals in the theatre industry, most of whom have had screen and West End experience. Being a part of such a timeless production shows just how outstanding Cian’s theatre skills are.”
