Traffic lights should ease congestion

IN response to the letter by K Jones in the Spenborough Guardian (August 6), no it isn't a good idea to have HGVs, buses and cars queuing down your road (Moorside).

Neither is it ideal that I, and an awful lot of other people, am going to spend the best part of 12 months being inconvenienced on my daily journey to and from work, but if the motorway bridge on Whitcliffe Road needs replacing, then it needs replacing.

Just where else is the traffic expected to go except via the Chain Bar which is chaos at the best of times in the rush hour?

I live in Scholes, work in Gomersal and have to go via South Parade, Cleckheaton, due to personal reasons. I am expecting my journey to work to double, if not more, during the school term, but unfortunately I don't have choice, I have to travel.

I cannot stay at home and complain about the traffic outside my house!
