Wheely glad to get bike back
WHEN 10-year-old Keel Shaffi's bike was stolen a few days before Christmas, he was devastated.
Then last week his mum, Emma Walton, came across the blue BMX in the window of Money Generator in Bradford Road, Dewsbury – only to be told that without a serial number or marked security code, they could not prove it was Keel's bike.
But after being approached by the Spenborough Guardian, big-hearted boss Nick Bellerby – who bought the bike from a third party in good faith – agreed to make the little boy's day and gave him the bike back.
Emma said: "Keel is absolutely over the moon and we are so grateful to Money Generator for being so kind. He didn't come off it when he got it back on Tuesday!"
Mr Bellerby took the bike off sale while the police conducted their enquiries, but when they drew a blank, the bike was put back in the window.
But then the generous boss had a change of heart and said Keel could have his pride and joy back.
He said: "As a gesture of goodwill I said Keel could have his back for no charge. I was glad to help the family out."
