THE long-awaited new railway station at Low Moor is now a step closer after the announcement of a public consultation later this month.
The original railway station closed in 1965 and residents in South Bradford, along with ward councillors, have been pushing hard for a replacement station for years.
West Yorkshire Metro will now unveil designs for the station, car park and highway and junction during the public consultation on November 18 from 2pm-7pm, and November 19 from 10am-1pm.
It will take place at the Oakenshaw Veterans’ Bowling Club, Cleckheaton Road, where representatives from Metro will be on hand to answer questions from the public.
It is hoped that the station will be up and running by December 2013 when trains will run along the existing Caldervale railway line between Bradford and Halifax.
