CHURCH goers raised money during a 12 hour snooker and table tennis marathon.

Members of Cleckheaton Methodist Church, in Mortimer Street, spent last Saturday battling it out with cues and bats in a full-filled fundraiser.

The church provided refreshments throughout the day and participants young and old joined together to raise money for the church’s Faith in Our Future drive.

The church is trying to raise £300,000 to refurbish the interior of the church.

As well as the games, there were also stalls selling cakes, books and bric-a-brac, as well as a chocolate tombola.

Church member Cathryn Elsey helped with the cake stall on the day.

She said: “It was a really good day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

“People could turn up and make a donation to play and we raised £1,000!”
