Matthew’s Coffee House in Cleckheaton will hold an exhibition of work by Birkenshaw-based artist Eric Humphrey.

Having previously been hung in London’s Mall Galleries for living artists, the original works in watercolour, oil, acrylic and prints will be on display at the café in Market Street from Monday January 26 until Saturday March 7.

There is an opportunity to chat to Eric at a meet the artist event on Monday January 26 from 6pm-8pm at the coffee shop.

Eric began painting in about 1984 and is mainly self-taught. Taking early retirement from teaching in 1992 allowed him to concentrate on the landscape and aviation subjects in which he specialises.

Until Saturday January 24, visitors can catch the end of Birstall-based artist Ethel Smith’s exhibition at Matthew’s, which features landscapes and animals
