The Mirfield Horse and Pony Society is to host an event for riders in the hope of bringing the equestrian culture back to Mirfield.

Julie Gosney, a member of the society, said: “The horse riding facilities we have in Mirfield are amazing. We want to try and re-kindle that equestrian excellence.”

The Tack Up & Go Horse and Pony show provides shows for riders in the area who would otherwise have to travel a long distance to attend.

“We want to help the riders as much as possible. If any of them need any help, then they just have to let us know.” Julie said.

As well as the horse and pony show, a tombola and raffle and stalls will be available for those who just want to enjoy the day. Money donated will be given directly to Kirkwood Hospice.

The show will be on the Sunday September 14 at the Mirfield Showground. If you would like to compete, the schedule is available at www.ridingdiary.co.uk and £5 can be paid on the day.
