three fitness fans will be taking a giant leap for womankind when they take part in the London Moonwalk next weekend.

Cheryl Haddlesey, June Schewtschuck and Mandy Sweeney hope to raise at least £500 for breast cancer charities when they complete the 26.2 miles trek on May 14 and have been training hard since January with the help of PJ’s Health and Fitness Village in Cleckheaton where they are all members.

To boost their fundraising efforts PJ’s managing director Kathryn Cooke, is supporting the girls in a fundraising weekend at the gym this weekend.

Tomorrow from 9.30am-1pm there will be a cake stall, tombola, craft and jewellery stalls, nail bar courtesy of Revive, Heckmondwike, face painting by Diddy Middy’s Play Gym, bouncy castle, sponsored chest wax, raffle with prizes including beauty treatments donated by Revive, PJ’s Platinum membership for two, and massage treatment from Senses, based at PJ’s.

On Sunday people can sample half-hour classes in Zumba, Hula Hoop, Kettlebells and Power Stretch from noon-2pm. The whole two hours cost £5, all proceeds going breast cancer. Sponsor forms are available at PJ’s reception for anyone wishing to sponsor the girls or just donate to the charity.
