Sound the Cosmic Horn...Georgia and the Ace Gang are going live.
Having sold five million copies world-wide, Leeds-born writer Louise Rennison’s best-selling novels about the daily life of teenager Georgia Nicolson have been adapted for the stage.
The World Premiere of Angus. Thongs and Even More Snogging hurtles onto West Yorkshire Playhouse’s Quarry stage from February 11–-March 3 and is a theatrical extravaganza of teenage love, life, friendship and cats.
It is directed by Ryan McBryde, with puppetry by Blind Summit.
Louise Rennison has written 10 novels in the Georgia Nicolson series, and her appearance at a talk and book signing at the town hall in Cleckheaton in 2002 attracted a packed audience.
Her last book, Withering Tights, was published in 2010 and won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. The second book in that series, A Midsummer Tights Dream, is due for publication next month.
Evening performances of Angus, Thongs and Even More Snogging are February 11-March 3 at 7.30pm, with matinees on February 23 and March 1 at 1.30pm and March 18 at 2pm.
