A Spen man’s naked escapades have landed him in trouble with the law.

Timothy Farr stripped off, jumped on a car roof and asked other road users if they were Jimi Hendrix, a court heard. Farr, 39, was drinking with friends on June 21 when he felt a compulsion to take off his clothes.

Farr was on the lookout for guitar hero Jimi Hendrix.

Prosecutor Simon Broad told Kirklees Magistrates’ Court: “Mr Farr believes that a friend had spiked his drink with LSD – this may explain the behaviour that followed.”

Farr stripped in a field near Drub Lane in Cleckheaton before venturing into the road.

Mr Broad said a woman stopped her car when she saw Farr and he climbed in.

“Mr Farr was not making much sense,” he said. “He was asking people in their vehicle if they were Jimi Hendrix.”

Farr then left the vehicle before standing in the road to stop the car of Lisa Grey, before climbing onto the roof and causing £500 worth of damage to the car.

Mr Broad added: “Of course, he can not help if his drink was spiked, but he will have to choose his friends more carefully in future.”

Farr, 39, who was not represented, told the court: “It seemed obvious to me that I was normal.

“It felt like so far from anything normal – it felt like I was on fire.”

Farr was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £15.

Magistrate Brian Castle added: “We accept that the behaviour you displayed was perhaps not your own, but you did cause a lot of damage to the car.

“If you offend again, we will have to punish you.”
