No IPCC role for hostel crash

The Independent Police Complaints Comission (IPCC) has announced that it will not take any further investigation into an incident which damaged a residential hostel in Cleckheaton last week.

The incident, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday April 30, involved a stolen Audi colliding with an unmarked police car that was searching for it, before both cars crashed into a wall of the hostel in Scott Lane, Cleckheaton.

Both drivers, and passengers from each car were taken to hospital.

A spokesman for the IPCC said: “The incident was referred to the IPCC and following an assessment we are content for the investigation to be conducted by West Yorkshire Police without any further IPCC involvement.”
