Police stage reconstruction

SPECIALIST police officers from the division’s Major Collision Enquiry Team closed off part of Cleckheaton town centre last Friday morning.

The officers were investigating an incident at the George on April 15 when a bouncer was hit by a car during the early hours of the morning.

Up to 10 officers scoured the scene and carried out tests during the reconstruction of the events leading up to the incident. The police had removed the cordon by mid-morning and left the site by 1pm.

The 31-year-old bouncer was treated in hospital for his injuries and has now been released.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and bailed.

In a separate incident, a man suffered injuries to his face after being attacked on the pub’s dance floor on Saturday May 6 at around 1.10am.

Police are appealing for people to come forward if they witnessed the attack.

Anyone with information should contact PC Chris Birkenshaw from the Spen Police on 101.
