For Kirklees Council, a third of all 69 seats were up for election, with one seat in each of the 23 wards going to the polls.

Elsewhere, the former leader of Kirklees Council, Shabir Pandor (Labour and Co-operative Party), has lost his seat in Batley West. Zahid Kahut (Independent) has been elected there. Jackie Ramsay (Labour and Co-operative Party) has not regained Dewsbury South - Hanifa Darwan (Independent) has been elected in that ward. And Mussarat Shaheen Pervaiz (Labour Party) has lost the Dewsbury West seat - Tanisha Bramwell (Independent) has been elected there.
