PUPILS at Gomersal Middle School got their skates on for an afternoon of roller hockey.

A fun session was held to introduce the sport to year eight pupils organised by the PE Department, in collaboration with the Whitcliffe Mount sports partnership.

Coaching was delivered by Gail Gerrard, school sports co-ordinator, with expert assistance and demonstrations by current England player Zak Holt Dunning and one of Gomersal’s year eight students, Brandan Wales, who currently skates with Zak in the Spen Valley Flyers Team.

Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon which proved to be a rolling success.

Training sessions for the Spen Valley Flyers are every Saturday at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre.

They are from 5pm-6.30pm for five-13-year-olds and 6.30pm-8pm for 14-year-olds to adults.

Equipment is provided. For mor information visit www.spenvalleyflyers.com.
