The old Royal Mail delivery office in Oldfield Lane, Heckmondwike, has been snapped up and will re-open as a business.
The site will become a showroom for bed retailer Bed Kingdom.
The delivery office was closed down in 2012 when its work was moved to Batley.
Bed Kingdom has previously sold its products online and the move to the Heckmondwike site will mean the opening of its first showroom open to the public.
Manager Ashley Hainsworth said: “It’s coming along well but we wanted to make sure everything was set up properly before we opened.”
He said the firm employed five members of staff but could take on more depending on the success of its new venture.
There was a campaign to save the Royal Mail delivery office in 2012 after plans were announced for its closure.
Campaigners held public meetings and collected signatures but the site was closed in August 2012.
Supporters included Batley and Spen MP Mike Wood who said it would deprive the area of a key public service.
Royal Mail said declining volumes of mail and difficult trading conditions were the reason behind the closure.
The store will open on Saturday September 6.
