DISCOUNTS for sport and leisure activities, car parking and environmental services through the Kirklees Passport scheme are now on offer from the town hall in Cleckheaton.

The scheme is open to people from Kirklees who receive benefits such as council tax or housing benefit.

People with a disability are eligible, as are full time students aged over 16.

People who are registered unemployed are also eligible to apply.

A passport is £2 or £3 each year, or half price for children.

It offers half price swimming, 25 per cent off sporting activities, an extra hour’s car parking free, 50 per cent off DVD, CD and video loans, and discounts on rock climbing and roller hockey.

Discounts on driving lessons and shopping are also available.

Passports are now available from Cleckheaton Customer Service Centre, in the town hall.

Applicants must supply their own photograph.
