Pupils from Whitcliffe Mount Business and Enterprise College have been busy entertaining, as they played host to members of Scholes Lunch Club and residents of Turnsteads in a special afternoon tea session in the school.
Year seven pupils performed harvest songs as well as serving tea and scones in the school’s main hall.
The school was also in charitable mood, as three cheques were presented to representatives from Martin House Hospice, the British Heart Foundation and Gaynor’s Fund, using money that was raised by students on last year’s sponsored walk. In total, £8,250 was raised, with each charity awarded a £2,750 share.
One of the organisers, 11-year-old James Ormondroyd, said: “There have also been requests for invites for more upcoming events.
“It has obviously been a real hit.”
